Dear Celebration Family,
The next 5 weeks are going to be action packed, exciting and challenging. If you haven’t been praying daily for Celebration Church now is the time to start! Let me outline some of the key dates:
January 22nd @ 4:00pm: A special meeting of the City of Muskegon planning commission will be held at City Hall. This meeting is to gain a “special use permit” that we need in order to meet as a church and have large gatherings at the new facility. This is a critical decision that we all need to be in prayer about. Specifically, pray for the members of the planning commission, the owners of the bars that are opposed to a church being next door and for our lawyer and others who will make presentations at the meeting. Pray that a “win, win” for all would be found.
Sunday, February 10th: A special offering for the building fund will be held. The amount that we need to raise is $75,000 for Phase I of the facility development. When we are able to raise $75,000 those dollars plus monies from the building fund will enable us to complete Phase I of the facility development. Please be in prayer for this offering. Pray that there would be one person who could give $20,000, pray that there would be two people who could give $10,000, pray that there would be 4 people who could give $5,000, pray that there would be 5 people who could give $1,000, pray that there would be10 people who could give $500, pray that there would be 10 people who could give $250, pray that there would be 10 people who could give $100, pray for 20 people would could give $50, and pray for each of our kids to give from their hearts and we will have $75,000 that will allow us to begin worshiping at 1260 west Sherman Blvd. with a worship center, bathrooms, children’s ministry space, offices, and a fellowship area. We all can’t give equally to this offering, but we can all equally sacrifice. If each of us sacrifices equally, then the needed funds will be raised.
Sunday, February 3rd: Pastor Nate Viskers from Ferrysburg Community Church (FCC) will be preaching at Celebration. FCC is our “mother” church. This will be an exciting Sunday as Pastor Nate encourages us with how FCC will be walking with us as we move to our new facility.
I will be preaching at FCC this same Sunday in a “pulpit swap”. I will be sharing with them the many exciting things God is doing at Celebration and expressing our gratitude for their support as our mother church. A special offering will be taken the Sunday I am there that will go towards our building fund.
January 30th, 31st , and February 1st: On each of these three dates there will be an open house at Pastor Greg and Jodie’s home from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. The open house will have detailed information on the new facility, a question and answer time, a presentation by Pastor Greg, and a time of prayer. Everyone who calls Celebration their church home is invited and encouraged to attend one of these three evenings. Drinks and Hour devoers will be served.
Wow! There really is a lot going on over the next 5 weeks! Look for lots of new information in this newsletter each week. A big THANK YOU to Sandy Ring for publishing and editing this newsletter that will help us all keep up to speed on what is going on.
In His Exciting Service,
Pastor Greg
